Two of Peoria basketball’s greatest success stories met up this week at the 2024 NBA Draft.

“NBA Draft Day 2024!! Great spending time in New York with my hometown brother Shaun Livingston!,” Booth wrote in the Facebook post, which as of Thursday morning had nearly 400 reactions and 40 comments about the meeting of the Peoria basketball minds.

“2 Peoria legends,” wrote one commenter.
“Two legends … great picture … Peoria proud!! Both you brothers should be writing a book two incredible stories to tell. Life changing,” wrote another.
Booth, 54, is the NBA vice president of basketball operations. He graduated from Manual in 1988 before a career at DePaul University and a 12-year professional career mostly overseas. He spent time as a scout for the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans before spending five seasons as the Pelicans’ director of player personnel. He joined the NBA front office in 2020.
Livingston, 38, retired last summer from his role in the Golden State Warriors front office. He graduated from Peoria High in 2004 and was drafted straight into the NBA, where is overcame a devastating knee injury to build a stellar 15-year career capped by a five-year stretch during which he won three NBA championships with the Warriors. He retired as a player in 2019.
