2 Rochester organizations awarded grants for jobs, supportive services

The U. S. Department of Labor has awarded the Rochester area nearly $4 million in grants to provide jobs, training and supportive services.

The federal grant money was designated to provide growth opportunities for communities affected by violence and poverty. 

PathStone Corp. will be getting $1.846 million for the initiative, with the Urban League of Rochester receiving $2 million.

Nearly $47 million in grants is being allocated to 14 organizations across the country.

The National Urban League in New York City and Social Enterprise and Training Center Inc. in Schenectady are among the benefactors.
