2024 NFL Season, Week 5: Seahawks return home to host New York Giants
The Seattle Seahawks (3-1) and New York Giants (1-3) are both coming off primetime losses, and now they’ll play each other at Lumen Field in Seattle.
It was a tough 42-29 loss for the Seahawks on Monday against the Detroit Lions, putting an end to their undefeated start. For the Giants, they played last Thursday to a 20-15 home loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Incredibly, the Giants have scored no home touchdowns but have put up six touchdowns on the road.
Seattle has beaten the Giants in each of the past two seasons by a combined score of 51-16. Daniel Jones has taken a beating in those games, and he’ll be tasked with hanging in there against the Seahawks’ lethal pass rush. For the Seahawks, this is the middle portion of a stretch of three games in 10 days, culminating in Thursday’s primetime outing at home versus the San Francisco 49ers.
What’s at stake?
The Seahawks are guaranteed to remain in first place in the NFC West entering Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Giants are probably sunk for the season if they fall to 1-4 in a tough NFC East.
Odds
The Seahawks opened as a 5.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook, with an over/under of 41.5 points.
