It is officially NFL Mock Draft season, and both New York teams are in the top 10 of the 2025 selection process after disappointing, nightmarish seasons.
After the Giants put up one of the worst seasons in franchise history, they hold the No. 3 pick, though a Week 17 win over the Indianapolis Colts potentially destroyed their prospects of getting either of the top two quarterbacks available.
The Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns could use an upgrade at the quarterback position, meaning Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward could be off the board by the time Big Blue is on the clock.
That would force the Giants to pivot elsewhere, perhaps to Colorado’s two-way Heisman winner Travis Hunter.
Granted, this is anything but a given, considering Hunter might be too intriguing of a prospect for one of the top two teams to pass up.
AmNY’s 2025 NFL Mock Draft 1.0
- Tennessee Titans — Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado: The Will Levis experiment failed, and the Titans need a new signal caller. As of now, Shedeur Sanders is the undisputed best QB of the class.
- Cleveland Browns — Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado: It is not necessarily a given that the Browns are going to move on from Deshaun Watson. They invested quite a lot into him, even with the off-field issues that follow him. An edge rusher like Abdul Carter would create a vaunted pass rush opposite Myles Garrett, but Hunter’s skillset will be too much to pass up.
- New York Giants — Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL): The Browns’ decision gifts the Giants one of the top two quarterbacks of a shallow talent class. Ward has a big arm that can make tough throws look effortless. He can improvise to extend the play and has shown the qualities to succeed as a leader at the NFL level.
- New England Patriots — Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State: A Week 18 win hurt New England’s draft standing, but they’ll still be able to get the best offensive lineman available at No. 4. Their O-Line is in dire need of a revamp to protect Drake Maye.
- Jacksonville Jaguars — Will Johnson, CB, Michigan: Jacksonville’s secondary is in flux. Andre Cisco is a free agent, and Montaric Brown, Ronald Darby, and Andrew Wingard will hit the market next offseason. Johnson will provide a fixture for their secondary to build around.
- Las Vegas Raiders — Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State: Two late wins dropped the Raiders out of contention for a top quarterback, meaning they have to pivot elsewhere to find a playmaker. Jeanty was the best running back in the country this season.
- New York Jets — Mason Graham, DT, Michigan: Like the Raiders, the Jets will miss out on a quarterback at No. 7, but they could use a refresh on the defensive line after things grew so stale this season.
- Carolina Panthers — Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State: The Panthers had one of the worst defenses in 2024 with a non-existent pass rush. Carter fixes that immediately.
- New Orleans Saints — Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia: New Orleans’ pass rush is currently up in the air. Cameron Jordan is 35, Payton Turner had his fifth-year option declined, and Chase Young is hitting free agency.
- Chicago Bears — Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas: Chicago’s offensive line cannot take all the blame for their league-worst 68 sacks allowed. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams held on to the ball for too long at times, but his protection unit needs to be bolstered, regardless.
- San Francisco 49ers — Nic Scourton, EGDE, Texas A&M: A heavy class of edge rushers will allow the 49ers to secure some depth behind Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave, even though there might be more pressing needs at cornerback or defensive tackle.
- Dallas Cowboys — Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss: There is a chance that Jeanty can sink to the Cowboys, who need serious ground-game help. But their defense could also use some help against the run. They allowed the fourth-most rush yards in 2024 and the most rushing touchdowns.
- Miami Dolphins — Malaki Starks, S, Georgia: Numerous defensive contributors are heading to free agency, but the Dolphins can cushion the blow of potentially losing Jevon Holland by getting the best safety available at the draft.
- Indianapolis Colts — Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State: Anthony Richardson needs more weapons, and a security blanket of a tight end is atop nearly every passer’s wish list.
- Atlanta Falcons — James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee: Matthew Judon and Lorenzo Carter are free agents this offseason, meaning help is needed behind Arnold Ebiketie.
- Arizona Cardinals — Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia: Significant turnover is expected on Arizona’s defensive line. Baron Browning, Dennis Gardeck, and Julian Okwara are headed to free agency.
- Cincinnati Bengals — Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona: Another promising target for Joe Burrow wouldn’t hurt, especially with Tee Higgins potentially looking for greener pastures this winter.
- Seattle Seahawks — Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State: The Seahawks need offensive-line help, but pickings are slim in the first round. Restoring a strong defensive front provides the promise of getting the Seahawks’ defense back on track.
