76ers vs. Knicks pick against the spread, over/under for Game 5

The Philadelphia 76ers will attempt to keep their season alive when they visit the New York Knicks Tuesday in Game 5 of their first-round series in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. The Knicks set up this closeout game at home behind Jalen Brunson’s 47 points in Game 4, which set a New York franchise record for most points in a playoff game. The 76ers are hoping they can at least send this series back to Philadelphia for Game 6 and get one more opportunity in front of their home fans.

Joel Embiid remains “questionable” with injury recovery. It’s clear the big man is not at 100% but I expect him to keep playing big minutes with the season on the line. Bojan Bogdanovic is out after suffering an ankle injury in Game 4, while Mitchell Robinson is questionable. Brunson is probable after appearing to injure his knee late in the game.

The Knicks are 4.5-point favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 202.5. New York is -192 on the moneyline while Philadelphia is +160.

76ers vs. Knicks, 7 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: 76ers +4.5

Three of the four games in this series have been relatively close going into the final stretches of the game, and the Sixers have actually held a lead at some point in the fourth quarter in all four contests. While New York’s late-game execution has been much better, the Knicks could easily be tied 2-2 or even down 3-1 in this series. Even though Embiid’s health issues have been documented and will continue to bother the big man, I believe the 76ers will at least be able to keep things close in this game. Philadelphia is 21-16 ATS after a loss.

Over/Under: Over 202.5

Despite the lackluster offense on display in Game 4, these teams have actually been able to scrape together enough points to hit overs. Even in Game 4, the over would’ve hit if not for a ridiculous fourth quarter scoring drought from both sides. Three of the four games in this series have gone over this line and I’ll take the over again in tonight’s Game 5.
