Timelapse unveils incredible progress of Nassau County International Cricket Stadium build

Dramatic progress of the build of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York which is set to host eight ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 matches in June has been unveiled, as the latest timelapse shows the rapid construction of all stands and the pitch area with just over a month to go until the event begins.

The timelapse released today shows the near completion of both the East and West Stands including spectator seating across the entire stadium which will house more than 34,000 fans. The north and south premium hospitality and media pavilions structures are also on target with a spectacular viewing experience and world class hospitality for all guests. Work continues at pace on the modular stadium’s playing surface with the turf outfield now laid and preparation work completed before installation of the pitches begins next week.

With just 39 days to go until the first historic first match takes place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium between 2014 champions Sri Lanka and South Africa, fans are urged to get their tickets now at tickets.t20worldcup.com to ensure their part in the biggest T20 World Cup ever.

Additionally, hospitality opportunities for Broward County Stadium in Florida and Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, Texas have now been launched. Fans have the chance to be part of a different history at the World Cup opener on 1 June in Texas in a repeat of the first ever international match USA against Canada and Sri Lanka face World Cup debutants Nepal in Florida’s first match on 11 June which is an occasion not to be missed. There is also limited hospitality availability at all matches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, including India versus Pakistan. Excitement of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup continues to build with the announcement that Sean Paul and Soca superstar Kes will join forces to produce the official anthem and sprint legend Usain Bolt named as World Cup Ambassador.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley said: “It is amazing to see the progress of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium over the past few weeks with all stands very close to completion and the outfield laid. To see the outfield now completed shows the transformation from a stadium to a world-class cricket facility, with the pitch block installation taking place shortly.

“With only 39 days to go until the historic World Cup match between Sri Lanka and South Africa, I would encourage all fans who haven’t got their ticket yet to visit tickets.t20worldcup.com to make sure they are a part of the biggest T20 World Cup ever.”

T20 USA, Inc. CEO Brett Jones said: “It is incredible to see what has been accomplished in just a few short months.
