The New York Giants selected Kentucky CB Andru Phillips with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After adding to their two biggest positions of need with their first two selections in the draft, the Giants continue to add some explosive talent to areas that need to be addressed.
Phillips is an elite athlete at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds. He has 31 1/4-inch arms, and he posted a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash to go along with insane numbers in the vertical jump (42 inches) and broad jump (11-foot-3-inches).

Phillips will bring a high level of instincts and toughness to a secondary that needed an overhaul. He was a two-year starter at Kentucky, recording 10 passes defensed but did not record an interception in 38 games (16 starts).
Phillips might be a better fit for a zone coverage defense, but he ha shown the ability to provide competitive play in man coverage. He has the versatility the play both on the outside and in the slot, and he can provide special teams value right away.
