Knicks vs. 76ers pick against the spread, over/under for Game 4

Game 4 between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers will kick off Sunday’s NBA schedule, with the Sixers hoping to defend their home floor while the Knicks try to grab a 3-1 lead. Philadelphia may have caught a break in Game 3 with Joel Embiid only receiving a Flagrant 1 foul on a controversial action when he pulled down Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, so we’ll see if there’s any type of retribution from New York for that in Game 4.

Robinson is listed as questionable with a sprained ankle. Embiid is “questionable” due to injury recovery. There are no other day-to-day injuries of note.

The 76ers are 5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook with the total coming in at 209. Philadelphia is -198 on the moneyline while New York is +164.

New York tends to bounce back after a loss, going 20-11-1 ATS in that category so far this season. Philadelphia does well after a win with a 28-20 ATS mark. The 76ers were able to pull away late in Game 3 thanks in large part to their ability to get to the free-throw line. Both teams shot the ball well, but Embiid’s 50-point outing ended up being the difference. There’s been an additional day of rest for both squads, which should lead to a competitive contest.

Despite not getting much from secondary players like Nicolas Batum and Tobias Harris, Embiid and Tyrese Maxey have shown they can carry a team. Even though Jalen Brunson continues to score at will, I think the 76ers cover Sunday afternoon and level this series 2-2.

Over/Under: Over 209

Game 2 of this series went under this line but Games 1 and 3 have gone over. The additional day off between Game 2 and 3 seems to have helped the likes of Brunson and Embiid, who performed extremely well. As noted earlier, there’s been an additional day of rest between Games 3 and 4. That leads me to believe both sides will be fresh and ready to go, leading to the over hitting again on this relatively low total.
