New York Giants’ biggest remaining need is hardly surprising | Sporting News

The New York Giants are entering the 2024 season with some big needs still remaining on the roster, including the most important position on the team.

As Daniel Jones recovers from a torn ACL and Drew Lock battles with him for the starting role, the Giants still have no future outlook at the quarterback position.

That’s why it’s no surprise the position was listed as the team’s biggest need coming out of the 2024 NFL Draft in the eyes of Pro Football Network.

Daniel Jones is coming off a torn ACL, and Drew Lock is Drew Lock.

New York Giants fans can only hope that Jones will recapture his 2022 form, but that probably is wishful thinking as Jones has looked average at best for much of his career.

New York opted against taking a QB in the draft and instead used the No. 6 pick on receiver Malik Nabers.

Whether Jones will be ready for Week 1 remains to be seen. He suffered a torn ACL in November and is still working his way back.

Lock has had some flashes here and there during his times with the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks since entering the league as a second-round pick in 2019.

The Giants are rolling into the 2024 season with Jones and Lock, but it’s very likely we’re going into next offseason with a similar conversation taking place at the quarterback position.
