Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks: Predictions, picks and odds for Game 5 Tuesday
A pair of pivotal Game 5’s grace our screens tonight, and on the Eastern Conference side, it’s between the No. 2 New York Knicks and the surprise team of the playoffs so far, the No. 6 Indiana Pacers.
After falling behind in the series 0-2, the Indiana Pacers appeared dead in the water heading back to Indianapolis. However, a pair of big wins at home, including a 121-89 thrashing in Game 4 breathed new life into the team and the fanbase. Now, NBA fans are wondering if the Knicks have what it takes to beat the Pacers at all, even heading back to their home court.
Of course, the Knicks know what it takes to win. They were the No. 2 seed in the East for a reason. However, if Jalen Brunson gets held under 20 points again, like he did in Game 4, it will be very difficult for the Knicks to go to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Here’s everything to know about this pivotal Game 5.

Predictions for Pacers vs. Knicks, Game 5:
FOX Sports: Knicks 117, Pacers 114
FOX Sports points out that the Knicks have been a favorite in 46 games this year and have come away with the win in 36 of them — good for a 76.6% win percentage in those games. It’s tough to bet against them given their track record as the favorites.
ClutchPoints: Knicks to win
Dominik Zawartko writes, “We’ll have to ride the New York Knicks to get the win at home. They’re much better at slowing the pace down at MSG and the Pacers haven’t shot very well in the building. I believe home-court advantage is the single most important factor of this series, so we’ll ride the Knicks to get this win at home.”
Vegas Insider: Pacers (+2.5)
Michael Crosson writes, “Based on what we saw from them in their previous two outings, I don’t think the Knicks are capable of generating enough offense to run with Indiana’s 2nd-ranked scoring attack in the absence of OG Anunoby – plus a pair of hampered big men with Isaiah Hartenstein listed as day-to-day and Mitchell Robinson out. So, I’ll take the points with Indy in Game 5.”
