Rory McIlroy made $110.9 million in golf winnings and millions more in endorsements during Erica Stoll marriage
Rory McIlroy’s shocking divorce filing revealed that he is asking for the enforcement of a prenuptial agreement he and wife Erica Stoll agreed to on March 7, 2017, more than a month before their lavish wedding at the Ashford Castle in Ireland.
This is significant for McIlroy, who has made nine figures in on-course winnings alone since 2017, and millions more in endorsements.
McIlroy, 35, has earned $146.7 million from playing golf in his professional career, according to Spotrac, about $110.9 million of which he’s made in the last seven years.
And of that $146.7 million, $86.7 million came from official payouts, while the rest is a mix of unofficial payouts and bonuses.
The Northern Irishman made $2.43 million in 2017; $4.45 million in 2018; $22.79 million in 2019; $5.43 million in 2020; $8.48 million in 2021; $40.47 million in 2022; $20.32 million in 2023 and $6.6 million so far in 2024.
McIlroy just won the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday, which earned him $3.6 million, and his late-April Zurich Classic win with Shane Lowry in the team event earned him $1.29 million.
The introduction of the Player Impact Program, which rewards players who impact PGA Tour business, provided a boost for McIlroy to the tune of $3.5 million in 2021 and $12 million in 2022.
