India will take on Bangladesh in their only warm-up match before the T20 World Cup 2024, which kicks off on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently announced the schedule for 16 warm-up matches, confirming that none of these matches will have international status. Teams can field all 15 members of their squad in these practice games.

India’s warm-up match against Bangladesh is scheduled for June 1 in the USA in New York. This game will be crucial for India, as they will have limited preparation time after the IPL final on May 26.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India is aiming for a strong start in the tournament, beginning with their first group-stage match against Ireland on June 5 in New York, followed by a high-stakes game against Pakistan on June 9.

In contrast, Pakistan, England, and New Zealand have opted to skip warm-up matches. Pakistan and England will engage in a four-match T20I series from May 22-30, while New Zealand recently completed a five-match series in Pakistan.

Other notable warm-up matches include Australia facing Namibia and the West Indies, and South Africa playing an intra-squad game. The warm-up fixtures will run from May 27 to June 1, providing teams with the opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and acclimatize to the conditions.

As the inaugural champions of the T20 World Cup in 2007, India hopes to replicate their past success. Fans eagerly await the tournament, anticipating thrilling cricket action as teams compete in the USA and the Caribbean.
