$48,000 Horse Racing Winning Bet Placed in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD—A local Montgomery County man hit a major Racetrax win, securing $48,432 after placing a Superfecta Wheel bet. The longtime lottery enthusiast purchased his ticket on May 15, investing $35 in a bet that covered five horses across 20 races.

The winning ticket was bought at a Sunoco station in Kenilworth, Hyattsville, as the player was returning home. This specific betting strategy allowed him to predict the order of finish for his chosen horses, enhancing his chances of winning.

In addition to his winnings, the Silver Spring resident benefited from the Racetrax Triple Crown promotion, saving $5 on his purchase.

This promotion, running until June 9, offers Racetrax players a $1 discount per $6 spent, with a maximum savings of $5 on tickets costing $30 or more.

The winner claimed his prize this Tuesday at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The Kenilworth Sunoco will also receive a $484.32 bonus for selling a winning ticket valued at over $10,000.
