Fitness Chain Opening First NYC Location In Harlem
HARLEM, NYC — Get ready to break out your spandex and running shoes; Harlem is getting a brand new gym.
Fitness Factory, a New Jersey-based gym chain, will debut in New York City at 362 West 125th Street in Harlem, according to a company spokesperson.
The gym has secured a long-term lease for 22,407 square feet at Nortco Development’s 12-story condominium development, Eleven Hancock, which is located between Morningside and St. Nicholas avenues.
Kassin Sabbagh Realty brokered the lease, with asking rentals ranging between $50 and $60 per square foot.
The gym will take up the lower level and second floor of the building, also known as Eleven Hancock, as well as 500 square feet of the ground floor, officials said.
“We are firing on all cylinders with expansion of both franchised and corporate locations. This brings us to eight corporate and nine franchised locations,” Fitness Factory said on social media.
Fitness Factory was founded in 1997 by Dennis Cieri and Richard Scarpati and has now expanded to 15 sites in New Jersey and Yonkers, NY, according to the company website.
The Harlem site will provide personal training as well as a variety of group classes, such as yoga, cardio kickboxing, fitness boot camp, Zumba and pilates.
“We cannot wait to start serving the Harlem, NY, community,” a company spokesperson said.
