The New York Giants signed defensive back Elijah Riley in free agency, the team announced Thursday.
An undrafted free agent safety in 2020, Riley spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (2020-2021), one season with the New York Jets (2021) and two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2022-2023).
Riley, 25, measures in at 6-foot-0 and 205 pounds. The Army product has appeared in 30 career games (seven starts) and has recorded 62 tackles (31 solo), five tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass defensed.
In order to make room on the roster, the Giants waived/injured running back Gary Brightwell. If he clears waivers, he will revert back to the team’s Reserve/Injured list.
