India have named as many as four spinners in the squad. Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are the team’s spinners whereas Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack that also consists of Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj.

The Men in Blue also have all-rounder options in Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube. Hardik recently scored an unbeaten 40 off 23 deliveries against Bangladesh in the warm-up match, hitting two fours and four sixes, and finished with figures of 1/30 from three overs. Having said that, there will be a lot of focus on Hardik Pandya the bowler.

Dube, on the other hand, could only manage 14 runs off 16 deliveries, but returned strongly with the ball, registering figures of 2/13.

As far as India’s batting is concerned, there’s a possibility of Virat Kohli opening with skipper Rohit Sharma. Another option is Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has opened for India in all 17 T20Is he has played. Kohli did not play the warm-up match against Bangladesh and Sanju Samson was sent out to open. Samson, however, endured a difficult outing, scoring just one run off six balls before being dismissed by Shoriful Islam.

Rishabh Pant, who came into bat at No 3 in that match, scored 53 off 32 balls. The southpaw adds balance to India’s batting lineup and will be crucial to the team’s chances.
