Food service company Cygnus, Yelloh, announces layoffs across New York

Cygnus Home Service, doing business as Yelloh, announced a mass layoff earlier this week that will affect 46 employees across the state.

The Minnesota based food services company filed the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Department of Labor on May 28.

Fifty-two employees across eight counties in New York are affected, including five in Franklin County and one in Saratoga County. According to the WARN notice, none of the employees were represented by a union.

The company has been downsizing since its rebranding in 2022 following a sale of nearly 80% of the company’s stock to a South Korean food culture company in 2019, according to Yahoo! Finance.

In a press release last October, the company announced it would be cutting around 750 jobs and closing 90 deliver centers.
