The New York Giants are signing veteran free-agent cornerback Tre Herndon after his participation in minicamp on a tryout basis.
Herndon is a six-year veteran who joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He spent his entire career up until this offseason with the Jaguars.
In 83 games (34 starts), Herndon has 32 passes defensed, three interceptions and nine tackles for loss. He also has 243 tackles (186 solo) in his career.
Herndon is taking the spot on the roster that was vacated by the retirement of Darren Waller.
