Reggie Miller slams Knicks and reignites Knicks feud after being booed at MSG

NBA legend Reggie Miller has called out the New York Knicks as his prolonged feud with the team continues.

The Pacers icon Miller was given a brutal welcome to Madison Square Garden when his former team played the Knicks in round two of the NBA playoffs.

Miller appeared on former NBA player Mark Jackson’s podcast this week and shared his disdain for the Knicks, who lost in seven games to the Pacers in the playoff series.

“This is why I cannot stand the Knicks, because, to me, they’re frontrunners,” the 58-year-old said.

“They think that their God’s gift to basketball.”

Miller mentioned the fact that Knicks fans chanted “f*** you” to the NBA legend while he was a broadcaster for the playoff series on TNT.

While Miller took no issue with the chants, he said that “gasoline was poured” when, in Game 5, New York star Josh Hart was heard on the live mics telling him what the chants were about.

“I don’t know what was in his head,” Miller said. But I don’t think there was anything malicious. I think he was trying to be funny.

“But for him to, again, pour gasoline on it…Because all you heard on the mic was him saying, ‘FU.’ So people thought he just came over to me and said, ‘FU,’ which wasn’t the case.

“Like why am I being dragged into the series? I’m here to work.”

The former Knick Jackson chimed in and believed that Miller’s frontrunning argument was hypocritical, calling out his troll-making toward the Knicks and their fans once the Pacers won the series.

“What is so wrong with that?” Miller responded. “Tell me, what is wrong with that? I am not in the series. I had nothing to do with the series.

“But then I got dragged into it [and] I did my job. But again, being frontrunners, there was no need for it. But it is what it is. It won’t be the first time.”

Recently, Knicks star Jalen Brunson addressed Miller and the beef he has with the New York team.

He appeared on Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks podcast and called Hart an “idiot” for telling Miller about the chants.

But Brunson believes Miller brought the heat from the Knicks on himself after the broadcaster said before calling a game in the second-round series that he’s “owned” the city of New York.

“But, Reggie did start the chirping,” the 2023-24 All-Star said. “He said this, he said, the Boogeyman is coming back to New York, he said, ‘Why would I be scared to come back to New York’?”

“He said, I own this place.”

The Knicks had a 3-2 series lead after the moment between Hart and Miller and lost the following two games to lose the series.

But Brunson told Rooks that the sequence between Hart and Miller wasn’t the turning point in the series.

While also being recognized as one of the best three-point shooters of all time, Miller has a history with the Knicks that has led to hostility between the two sides.

He is famously known for giving a choking gesture to Knicks fanatic Spike Lee during a playoff game between Indiana and New York.

After the Game 7 victory, Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton wore a hoodie with a picture of Miller’s choke pose just to mock the Knicks.

Indiana went on to get swept by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics are up 3-0 over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.
