Justin Timberlake arrested on DWI charges in New York; singer in custody
American singer-actor Justin Timberlake was arrested in Long Island, New York, for driving while intoxicated or impaired. According to the Sag Harbor Police Department, Timberlake, 43, remains in police custody as of the morning of Tuesday, June 18. A police statement is expected later today.
While official charges have not been confirmed by the police, a source reveals that Timberlake was apprehended on DWI charges. The arrest followed a dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. Timberlake was reportedly on his way to a friend’s house when he was pulled over.
“Nobody was hurt,” the source told People. “He will be arraigned in about an hour.”
Timberlake’s representative is yet to comment on the arrest.
Timberlake, who is currently on tour to promote his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, is scheduled to perform at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and 22, followed by two shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.
