Netflix star ‘booted from club’ for underage drinking
Noah Schnapp was reportedly kicked out of a New York City nightclub after allegedly getting “aggressively wasted” from underage drinking at the weekend.
The 19-year-old, known for his starring role as Will Byers in Stranger Things, was out on the town on Saturday at a nightlife hotspot called The Palace where he allegedly pestered clubgoers to take tequila shots with him and his entourage, according to Page Six.
However, Schnapp allegedly became “angry” after the clubgoers refused to participate with him because he is under the legal drinking age of 21 in the US.
He allegedly became so “aggressively wasted” that security had to escort him out at about 1.30 am.
A source added that after getting kicked out of the venue, Schnapp was “clearly unable to stand” and left the area at about 2 am.
It’s not the first time Schnapp, who came out as gay last year, has made headlines shrouded in controversy.
In 2020, Schnapp denied saying a racist term while singing along to “Freaky Friday” in a resurfaced video from 2019.
In 2022, Doja Cat slammed him for sharing messages she sent the actor, in which she asked him to set her up with his co-star Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson, on their hit Netflix show.
Fans also rallied to cancel Schnapp last year when he shared a video of himself laughing as people around him showed off stickers reading “Zionism Is Sexy” and “Hamas Is Isis.”
Schnaap, who is Jewish, shared thoughts about his support for Israel after Hamas launched a surprise attack on the Middle Eastern nation in October last year.
However, in January, he broke his silence on the matter in a since-deleted TikTok video and said his “beliefs have been so far misconstrued.”
“I only want peace and safety and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict,” he added at the time.
Stranger Things 5 began filming earlier this year with fans excited to see how the series’ final season will play out.
