Projecting New York Giants’ starting lineup on offense for 2024 season | Sporting News
The New York Giants enter the third season under Brian Daboll looking to rebound on the offensive side of the ball.
After Daboll’s unit showed some promise during the 2022 season with an efficient campaign, the entire offense took a major step back in 2023 due to injuries and poor performances.
Now, the Giants offense is in limbo. Will they bounce back to the form that helped get them to the playoffs, or will we get another disastrous showing that led to the No. 6 overall pick.

There will be plenty of new faces on the offensive side of the ball with new starters projected at running back, wide receiver, tight end and two offensive line positions.
Here’s how the starting lineup for the Giants offense in 11 personnel projects ahead of training camp:
New York Giants starting offense projection for 2024
Quarterback: Daniel Jones
Once Jones is fully healed from his ACL reconstruction surgery, he will be the starter. Drew Lock won’t get playing time unless Jones gets hurt or is a complete disaster worst than what he offered in 2023.
Running Back: Devin Singletary
The Giants let Saquon Barkley walk and replaced him with Singletary. He won’t be a bellcow back, but he should be in line for the majority of touches in the backfield considering his competition.
X Wide Receiver: Darius Slayton
I expect Slayton to line up mostly as the X receiver, which gives Malik Nabers more flexibility as the flanker for better matchups. With Nabers occupying the defense’s attention, it will be interesting to see how he performs now that he finally gets coverage as the WR2.
Z Wide Receiver: Malik Nabers
The Giants could deploy Nabers as the X receiver, but the NFL is shifting to where flankers can still be dominant options. Look at receivers like Stefon Diggs, CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Cooper Kupp. They all spend a significant amount of snaps in the slot as well as outside. The Giants shouldn’t pigeon-hole Nabers into one position.
Slot Wide Receiver: Wan’Dale Robinson
When the Giants are in 11 personnel, Robinson will be on the field. He should eat up plenty of short-area targets from Jones, especially now that Darren Waller is out of the picture.

Tight End: Theo Johnson
Speaking of Waller, his retirement leaves a massive void at tight end. While Daniel Bellinger could be the starter here, the rookie has a higher ceiling. Both are certainly going to see time on the field, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Johnson were on the field the most once he gets comfortable with the blocking concepts.

Left Tackle: Andrew Thomas
If he’s healthy, Thomas can provide the Giants with an All-Pro level of stability on the blind side.
Left Guard: Jermaine Eluemunor
It’s a curious decision that the Giants are deploying Eluemunor at left guard despite his best performances coming at right tackle. But that’s what happens when an organization doesn’t yet know what they have in a top-10 pick going into his third season.
Center: John Michael Schmitz
The Giants really need Schmitz to play as the anchor they thought he would be when they drafted him in the second round in 2023. He struggled during his rookie season, but he still has the tools to be a strong starting asset. More zone concepts and getting Schmitz in space would help.
Right Guard: Jon Runyan
Another curious decision that stems from Elueunor being the left guard, Runyan has made it clear he prefers the other side of the line. Still, the Giants want him next to the projected starting right tackle.
Right Tackle: Evan Neal
Arguably the biggest question mark on the entire roster. Neal enters his third season working his way back from offseason ankle surgery. Hopefully, that can get Neal on the right track because the Giants desperately need it. If not, it will be interesting to see how short the leash is.
