July 4, 2024: The guide to fireworks shows in Central New York
The July 4 fireworks season kicked off this week with a food truck event and fireworks display at Great Northern on Tuesday.
It continues this week with fireworks in Phoenix on Friday and Camillus on Saturday.

Cayuga County
AUBURN
Wednesday, July 3, Emerson Park. The Syracuse Symphoria performs at the Pavilion, followed by the fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. (weather permitting).
Saturday, July 6, 130 N. Division St. Cancer Care Celebration with the Auburn Doubledays starts at 7 p.m. and concludes with fireworks after the game.
FAIR HAVEN
Saturday, July 6. Fireworks will be at the South end of Little Sodus Bay (downtown district) starting at 10 p.m. and can be viewed along the shoreline.
OWASCO
Thursday, July 4. The Owasco Fire Department, 7174 Owasco Road, Auburn, will hold its annual barbecue starting at 10:30 a.m. A parade at 1 p.m. is part of the festivities.
Cortland County
LITTLE YORK
Saturday, July 6, Dwyer Memorial Park. Park opens at 8 a.m. for the Cortland County Independence Day Celebration. Food, music and vendors precede the fireworks which begin at dark. Rain date: July 7. $5 per car admission.
VIRGIL
Friday, July 5, Hope Lake Lodge & Waterpark, 2177 Clute Road. Greek Peaks Fireworks Show begins at dusk.
Jefferson County
ALEXANDRIA BAY
Thursday, July 4. Fireworks begin at 9:45 over Boldt Castle and may be viewed from the lakefront.
CLAYTON
Wednesday, July 3, Frink Park. Fireworks begin at dusk.
SACKETS HARBOR
Thursday, July 4, Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site, Sackets Harbor. Fourth of July Celebration at the Battlefield concludes with fireworks at dusk.
Madison County
CAZENOVIA
Thursday, July 4, Village of Cazenovia. 5 and 10 K races and pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Parade down Lincklaen St. and west to Albany Street begins at 1 p.m. Live music at Lakeland Park begins at 4 p.m. before the fireworks display at dusk over the south end of Cazenovia Lake.
Oneida County
VERNON
Thursday, July 4 and Saturday, July 6, Vernon Downs Raceway, 4229 Stuhlman Road. Family Fun Carnival kicks off on Thursday at 4 p.m. with rides and food, followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Carnival goes through Saturday, when there will be another fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
Onondaga County
BALDWINSVILLE
Thursday, July 4, Paper Mill Island Amphitheater. Dance band Atlas plays before fireworks at dusk.
BREWERTON/CICERO
Wednesday, July 3, South shore of the Oneida River between Route 81 and Route 11. Second annual boat parade at 2 p.m., followed by a food truck rally and live music that begins at 4 p.m. before the fireworks at dusk. Fireworks can be viewed anywhere along the river.
CAMILLUS
Monday, July 1, Veteran’s Memorial Park, Gillie Lake, Sands Road. Music starting at 7:30 – 9:30 precedes the fireworks which go off at dusk.
EAST SYRACUSE
Saturday, July 6, East Syracuse Elementary School, 230 Kinne Street. Food and entertainment from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. before the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
MANLIUS
Thursday, July 4, Village Center, Route 92, Manlius. Food trucks and chicken BBQ begin at 4 p.m. and go until 10 p.m. Parade at 5 p.m., followed by entertainment at 6 p.m. before the fireworks at dusk.
SYRACUSE
Wednesday, July 3, NBT Bank Stadium. Fireworks follow the games on July 1, 2 and 3 with the largest show being on July 3.
Oswego County
OSWEGO
Saturday, July 6, Oswego Speedway, 300 E. Albany St. Fireworks follow the races.
Sunday, July 7, Downtown Oswego. Parade at 1 p.m. followed by the downtown block party at 2 p.m. with music, food and more. Fireworks over the Oswego River begin at 9:45 p.m.
PHOENIX
9 p.m., Friday, June 28, Henley Park, State Street, Phoenix. Music from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by fireworks at dusk.
Tompkins County
GROTON
Friday, July 5, Groton Elementary School. Food and a DJ before the fireworks display at dusk.
TRUMANSBURG
Friday, July 5, Taughannock Falls State Park. Fireworks over the falls at dusk.
