NY Jets News: Garrett Wilson will solidify superstar status in 2024

Good morning Gang Green Nation! There is a bit of a disconnect going on concerning the New York Jets and their prospects for 2024. On the one hand, several prominent sources are rating the Jets’ roster among the best in the NFL. One even rated the Jets the best roster in the NFL. PFF has the Jets defense rated the NFL’s best at all three levels of the defense. Yet I have seen very few predicting great things for the Jets this season. Most sources don’t even predict a division title. Some don’t even have the Jets making the playoffs. It’s an unusual variance between how analysts view this roster and how analysts view the Jets’ prospects.

Perhaps the coaching is thought to be so subpar that a great roster will go wasted. Perhaps the Jets are viewed as a great team with not so great injury risks, as several high profile Jets are coming off major injuries and/or have a long injury history. Perhaps it’s the fool me once, shame on you, fool me the last 13 years straight, shame on me principle. Whatever it is, the Jets don’t seem to be getting much credit for what appears to be a Super Bowl worthy roster. We’ll see how things play out. The only thing that matters is how the Jets end the season, not how they look in July. But it sure is a refreshing change that, for the time being, the Jets roster looks so very good and ready to go a long way.
