Miss South Carolina Wheelchair USA preps for New York Fashion Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Miss South Carolina Wheelchair USA 2024 is home after competing at Miss Wheelchair USA.

Although she didn’t bring home the national title, Kim Brock did win a total of 5 prestigious awards. She took second runner up, The Dane Foundation Quality of Life Award, Special Needs Living Magazine Press Award, the Photogenic Award, and Mona Johansson Spirit Award. It’s a huge accomplishment for her first in a pageant.

In September, Brock will pack her bags and fly to New York City where she model at New York Fashion Week. She will be one of the first models in a wheelchair.

Governor Henry McMaster is also recognizing Brock’s accomplishments by writing her a letter and congratulating her on her journey to the crown.

Since returning home from the national pageant, Brock has been busy advocating for more accessible and inclusive playgrounds in not just the Upstate but in the Palmetto State. She is currently a council member for the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council using her experience to help others.

When Brock is not advocating for playgrounds she is sharing her inspirational story with people all across South and North Carolina. If you are interested in Miss South South Carolina speaking at your event or school you can e-mail her directly at kdwooten0811@aol.com
