Naomi Campbell Just Nailed Two Of Autumn’s Biggest Hair Trends In One

It could be the start of the fashion week circuit, or the cusp of a new and long-awaited season, but September always brings with it a new kind of energy. Fresh ideas, pioneering creative visions, and a back-to-school spirit that has us all in the mood to switch up our wardrobes and start anew.

It’s also a prime opportunity for beauty experimentation, as Naomi Campbell has just proved with her latest hairstyle. Stepping out for the second day of New York Fashion Week, the first major leg of the SS25 show calendar, Campbell debuted a side-parted curly bob, dressed head-to-toe in black as she attended the Bvlgari Studio Party in New York City.

Of course, it’s not the first time that the curly bob has taken centre stage on our beauty mood boards. Halle Berry was among a number of famous faces who stepped out of her comfort zone and embraced a shorter ‘do just a mere few weeks ago. Meanwhile, Zendaya has long been serving short curly hairstyles and let’s not forget Bella Hadid who has given us ample styling inspiration in the form of her curly half updo.

But Campbell is also ticking another hair trend box: the return of the side parting. From Sophie Turner to Jennifer Lawrence, the side parting was the most unexpected of hair trends to resurface this year, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere this season.

There are a few styling tricks to note, as hair forecaster, Tom Smith, explains. ‘For maximum volume on a side parting you can dry your hair with a parting on the opposite side and then flip it over. Use a straightening iron over the ends first and then use a curling iron to create bends in the middle for that sharp and textured look. Finish with a texture spray such as Sam Mcknight Cool Girl Hairspray or a strong hold styling powder like Evo Haze for maximum volume and hold.’

Expect to see the side-parted curly bob cropping up more and more this season. ‘We’ve seen hair themes sustain throughout this year such as subtle asymmetry, like a side parting and flipped over hair, even side fringes. This season, in particular, were seeing cloud curls and lots of references for fluffy curly, aerated hair,’ he notes.

The key, as proven by Campbell, is to emphasise your curl pattern and embrace your natural hair texture.
