Jayson Tatum, Charles Melton and Storm Reid Keep the Coach Fashion Week Party Going

After debuting its new collection on the High Line, Coach brought the crowd to another classic New York City locale: SoHo. The brand linked up with Perfect Magazine to host a late-night party on Monday night, held across three floors of the not-yet-open hotel The Manner.

Charles Melton, who stars in the fall Coach campaign, joined designer Stuart Vevers on the rooftop.

“It was the epitome of New York,” Melton said of the new collection, which he took in from the front row several hours earlier. “It was fresh; there was a personal touch, a personalization of each outfit. I loved the SoHo sneaker. It was very inspiring.” Melton was also feeling inspired by the campaign’s theme, “Unlock Your Courage.”

“Which in a sense pays homage to who you are as an individual. Going against the grain of what’s projected onto you from the society, this idea of being perfect,” he said. “Express yourself and be free: that’s the whole concept.”

Melton, who recently wrapped production on Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland’s film “Warfare,” will head back to Los Angeles next week to start preparing for his next job. In the meantime, he’s been checking out some of the city’s cultural offerings, including the immersive dance performance R.O.S.E. at the Park Avenue Armory. “It was pretty incredible to see these artists just completely enveloped and immersed in what they were doing. It’s very inspiring for me to see that.”

Storm Reid, another campaign star, soon joined the party on the rooftop, where she praised the denim pieces and oversize clutch bags from the new collection. “Stuart did an amazing job,” she said. The actress, a senior at USC, is finishing up her degree and in preparation for her next projects. “I have a production company, so I’m producing some things. I’m about to go into production hopefully soon on a movie that Teyana Taylor is directing. It’s her directorial debut.”

Other party guests included Melton’s “Riverdale” costar Cole Sprouse, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, Francesca Scorsese, Coco Rocha, Selah Marley, Delilah Belle and Lisa Rinna.

Boston Celtics star player Jayson Tatum arrived around 10 p.m., holding court on the second floor near the DJ booth. Tatum, who helped his team win the 2024 championship, was in town ahead of the start of the NBA season next month. “Hopefully we can try to win again,” he said.

But when it comes to fashion week, Tatum, currently the face of the Coach for Men fragrance, is still a rookie.

“It was a unique experience for me,” Tatum said of his experience sitting front row earlier in the day. “I’d never been to a fashion show, so that was my first one. The environment was great. It was faster than I thought it would be.”
