WooSox broadcaster named new radio voice for Knicks
The New York Knicks have a new radio play-by-play voice in Tyler Murray, who’s been calling Worcester Red Sox games since 2022. He will have a TV role filling in for select MSG Networks telecasts of Knicks games. Murray will join Monica McNutt, who will continue to be the game analyst.
“I’ve dreamed of calling Knicks games for as long as I can remember, so my family and I couldn’t be more excited,” Murray said in a statement released by the Knicks. “It’s an honor to join MSG Networks, and to represent everyone who has lifted me up along the way.
“We’ve admired Tyler’s versatility, his work ethic and his passion for New York Knicks basketball and he will be a great fit with our current group of distinguished Knicks broadcasters,” senior vice president of content and marketing of MSG Networks Kevin Marotta said in a statement. “Tyler and Monica McNutt will form a dynamic team that Knicks fans will respect and appreciate.”
Murray has been the lead radio and TV broadcaster for the WooSox since 2022, and occasionally called Boston Red Sox games on WEEI alongside Will Flemming and Lou Merloni.
Along with his 14 years of being a baseball broadcaster between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the WooSox, Murray has also been the primary voice of Hockey East.
Murray will remain with the WooSox through their final home game on Sept. 15.
