SAS to launch Oslo-New York route in 2025
Scandinavian carrier SAS will launch a seasonal daily service between Oslo and New York’s JFK International airport for summer 2025.
The route will start on March 30 using Airbus A321LR aircraft configured with three cabins: 22 business class seats, 12 premium economy seats and 123 economy seats. Flights will operate until 25 October 2025.
The announcement comes a few days after SAS said it would launch a new Copenhagen-Seattle service from May 2025.
SAS is also expanding its Copenhagen hub for next summer with new routes between the Danish capital and 14 European destinations, including Lyon, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Krakow, Bucharest, Budapest and Milan Linate.
In another move, SAS has signed a codeshare deal with Delta Air Lines, which takes effect from 25 September. The agreement come after SAS officially joined the SkyTeam alliance on 1 September.
SAS said the codeshare agreement will improve connections for passengers flying between Scandinavia and North America. It will also offer reciprocal codeshare and frequent flyer benefits, including the ability to earn and redeem Delta SkyMiles or SAS EuroBonus points across each carrier.
Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS, added: “With our new direct route from Copenhagen to Seattle, we’re strengthening connections to the Pacific Northwest offering more travel options for our passengers.”
