After dropping 36 points against the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs, New York Liberty point guard Sabrina Ionescu tied the franchise record for most point in a playoff game — as the team moves on to the semi-finals. The 26-year-old is not only dropping points, she’s also dropping a new colorway for her signature shoe with Nike.
Priced at $160 for Nike members only (it’s free to sign up), the soft and durable Nike Sabrina 2 “By Big Ellie” sneakers take their inspiration from the New York Liberty’s mascot, Ellie The Elephant.
The shoes are designed with strong lines and pronounced color scheme with responsive traction and cushioning support for additional pop when playing basketball or just for casual looks.
Made from a blend of mesh and vinyl for shape, the sneakers feature Nike’s “Cushlon 3.0” foam and Air Zoom forefoot for speed, absorption and cushioning with a herringbone pattern at their soles for grippiness and traction on the court.
And since they pay homage to Ellie the Elephant, Nike Sabrina 2 have an elephant print on their heels on the lateral and medial sides, while their outer soles have a marble print in gray and black with Ionescu’s “SI” logo on each tongue.
Although these shoes are customizable with multiple colors available, they look amazing in New York Liberty’s seafoam green, black and white colors.
Meanwhile, the Nike Sabrina 2 come in various other colorways, including “Mirrored” black and gray, “United” red and white, “Pepper” gold and green, “Jason and Daisy Sudeikis” multi-color and others. The sneakers also come in “Team Bank” colorways, such as white, black, green, gray, red and blue.
The Nike Sabrina 2 “By Big Ellie” sneakers are unisex, so they come in women’s and men’s sizes for $160 for Nike members only. Additionally, the sneaker style comes in sizes for big kids for $100 per pair at nike.com.
