New York Jets star Garrett Wilson tells Giants fan to ‘shut up’ after Malik Nabers criticism

New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson shot down a critic of one of his local rivals.

That player, Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabers, is coming off an impressive, but ultimately disappointing Week 4 loss to the rival Dallas Cowboys. The former LSU star played great, catching a dozen passes for 115 yards, but ended the night being diagnosed with a concussion.

That head injury occurred in the waning stages of the fourth quarter, when Nabers dove along the sidelines for a Daniel Jones pass. Although he initially appeared to make a brilliant catch, replays showed Nabers failing to secure the ball, leading to a turnover on downs.

What’s more, Nabers is seen landing on his head before struggling to get up and being helped to the locker room. He has since been diagnosed with the first concussion of his NFL career.

So when a Giants fan ripped Nabers on X over some dropped passes, Wilson responded with a succinct post of his own: ‘Shut up bra.’

But the fan, @Giants366, wasn’t done there.

‘Even with the drops he’s still a better WR than you…,’ the person wrote to Wilson, the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Probably satisfied he’d made his point, Wilson neglected to respond.

As for Nabers’ health, not much is clear.

‘Yeah, we’ll just take it day by day here and see where he’s at,’ Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday when asked what the offense would do if Nabers wasn’t ready for the Week 5 Seattle game.

The good news, according to Daboll, is that quarterback Daniel Jones appeared to play better in Thursday’s defeat, which dropped New York to 1-3.

‘He’s played well,’ Daboll said of Jones. ‘He’s seeing the field. He’s delivered the ball where he needs to. Again, we had some opportunities to continue drives today, as well. I’m proud of how he’s performed.’

Impressively, Wan’Dale Robinson has emerged as a secondary option to Nabers after hauling in a career-high 11 catches for 71 yards on Thursday in New Jersey.
