Giants News: Malik Nabers Receives Massive Injury Update For Seahawks Game

As the New York Giants get ready for their Week 5 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, they may have to do so without the services of a key offensive player. Star rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has been dealing with a concussion that he suffered in Week 4 and it’s a “longshot” for him to be ready for the game.

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported the news about Nabers on social media.

Losing Nabers for this game would be a big loss for the Giants. He has emerged as one of the better young wide receivers in the NFL and has helped the New York offense look much better in recent weeks.

The Giants offense has been a little inconsistent this season but they’ve been more competitive over the last few games. With Nabers in the lineup, he provides New York with an elite No. 1 option for quarterback Daniel Jones.

Through the first four games of his NFL career, Nabers has registered 35 catches for 386 yards and two touchdowns. He has shown his explosiveness on the field and has used his extreme athletism to make some impressive catches already.

He leads the NFL in receptions through the first four weeks of the season and is third in touchdown catches. Nabers has been targeted 52 times on 145 pass attempts from the Giants this season, a 35.9 percentage, which ranks as the highest in the league.

Coming into the NFL, many saw Nabers as the best wideout from the 2024 NFL Draft class. However, he was the second wide receiver taken off the board, behind Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Arizona Cardinals.

But Nabers has been making his mark with the Giants so far and showing why the team was so high on drafting him.

He hasn’t practiced all week, another sign of his likely status for this contest. New York would then need to rely on other wide receivers to step up if he is forced to miss the game.

New York also has Wan’Dale Robinson dealing with a potential injury this week so their offensive attack could be limited. But if Robinson is able to give it a go, he would become the likely No. 1 option in the scheme.

Even if Nabers can play, the Giants will have their hands full with the Seahawks. Seattle sits with a record of 3-1 on the season and has looked like one of the better teams across the NFL.

New York is 1-3 for the season and will be looking to get themselves back on track with a big upset win.
