Mets vs. Brewers Wild Card Game 3 player props: Target William Contreras
The Mets’ Jose Quintana has a tough matchup against Brewers catcher William Contreras in Game 3 of the Wild Card round Thursday night in Milwaukee.
The 26-year-old backstop crushes southpaws, hitting .313/.402/.486 with four home runs and 12 doubles against them during the 2024 regular season.
He’s been even better against Quintana over nine career plate appearances with three hits, including one home run, one double and a pair of walks.
A notoriously streaky hitter, Contreras comes into this game on another hot streak.
Contreras was one of the best hitters in baseball through May before going through a summer swoon, hitting just .230 in June and July combined.
Over the past two months of the season, he got back on track, slashing .279/.393/.553.
Contreras had one hit in each of the first two games of this series, including an RBI single in Game 1.
Playing in their eighth game in seven days, the Mets’ bullpen comes into this one a bit taxed, having thrown 11 ⅓ innings since Monday’s double-header against the Braves, giving Contreras even more opportunities for a big hit once Quintana is out of the game.

Quintana lasted just 4 1/3 innings against the Brewers in his final regular-season start last Saturday, a 6-0 loss. He allowed five hits but struck out nine.
While Jackson Chourio killed the Amazin’s on Wednesday night, it’s Contreras’ turn to star for the Brew Crew on Thursday.
If the Mets’ season ends Thursday night, bet on Contreras having something to do with it.
