Sledgehammer-wielding men smash window of Upper East Side Chanel store

A window at a Chanel store on the Upper East Side was shattered by two sledgehammer-wielding men Sunday evening, cops and sources said.

Photos show shards of glass littering the sidewalk in front of the high-end retailer at East 64 Street and Madison Avenue after the brazen attack around 7 p.m.

It is unclear if any property was stolen from the high-end retailer, cops said late Sunday, but sources said at least two items were snatched.

“It’s obviously not a good thing to see if you live in the area, but what do you expect? This is New York City,” Max Morris, who lives near the Chanel store, told The Post.

“Hopefully we can have someone who does something about this.”

“I’m not surprised. That’s why we really need a good mayor to come in and someone to clean this up, this is a terrible situation,” he added.

No arrests have been made, and no injuries were reported, cops said. The investigation remains ongoing.
