The Knicks are ready to win now. They found their guy in Jalen Brunson, who this off-season took a $113 million pay cut when agreeing to his 4 year $156 million extension. Brunson was also named captain this past summer. Around Brunson, they re-signed three and d wing O.G. Anunoby to a five-year $212 million contract and traded for another great three and D wing in Mikal Bridges. They traded for All-Star Karl Anthony-Towns who shoots 40% from three and will help with spacing alongside Brunson, and the Knicks are hoping elite rebounding and rim-protecting center Mitchell Robinson can stay healthy. The Knicks bench is easily the best in the league, led by Josh Hart, Miles McBride, and Precious Achiuwa. The Knicks have all the pieces to make a championship run and compete with the Celtics; great perimeter defense, an elite scorer, a great rim protector, and depth on the bench. Bringing in KAT was a huge addition as big-man depth was a huge question for the Knicks. Championship or bust for the Knicks in 2025.

They have the perimeter defense and offense to compete with the Celtics, the 76ers probably won’t be healthy by the end of the year, and even if they are the Knicks still match up really well with them. The Bucks’ core is too old and their championship window has passed, and the Pacers, Cavs, and Magic just aren’t good enough to get there this year. Knicks are running the east this year.
