Spirit Halloween Is Going Christmas In New York State

‘Tis the season for ghouls, goblins, and all things spooky– including the rise of one of the country’s most popular Halloween-themed stores. 

No matter where you’re spending the month of October in New York State, you can pretty much guarantee that a Spirit Halloween shop will be nearby. With over 50 locations in the Empire State alone, Spirit has become a go-to for finding scary decorations for your yard or last-minutes costumes for your Halloween party. 

Then, beginning in early November, we slowly start to see Spirit Halloween stores disappear, with their storefronts becoming empty Bed Bath & Beyond and Rite Aid locations again. 

But just because the spooky season wraps up doesn’t mean the holiday festivities should stop! In fact, some of their locations intend to keep the “spirit” going through the end of the year.

Spirit Halloween Turning Into Spirit Christmas In New York State

Spirit Halloween has announced that they will be taking ten locations across the country, including here in New York State, and turning them into “Spirit Christmas” pop-up shops for the upcoming holiday season. 

Regarding the change, Spirit spokesperson Nikki Balles said,

“Our goal is to create a festive retail experience that captures the spirit of the season, much like we do for Halloween.”

According to the company’s website, Spirit Christmas will be a destination for customers looking for stocking stuffers, holiday décor, unique gifts, and Christmas trimmings. 

Spirit Christmas stores will even have opportunities for kids to meet Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. 

The bad news? Not every Spirit Halloween store will be getting a holiday makeover. In fact, only two of New York’s dozens of locations will be taking on the Christmas spirit.
