Oasis’ Liam Gallagher responds to ‘SNL’ skit mocking his feud with brother Noel

The Gallagher brothers were the butt of the joke on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

Liam, 52, and Noel Gallagher, 57, were portrayed by Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson, respectively, during the Weekend Update segment that poked fun at the siblings’ notorious feud — which sparked a response from Liam.

Colin Jost began the segment by announcing that tickets are on sale for Oasis’ North American tour “which is surprising to some as the band has famously been feuding for decades.”

The brothers, played by Sherman, 31 and Johnson, 35, joined Jost, 42, and addressed the state of their relationship.

“I’m cool if he’s cool,” Johnson said as Noel.

“I’m cool. I’m cool. I’m cooler than you are,” Sherman responded as Liam.

“Great, so that’s a no,” said Jost.

The siblings went back and forth as “Noel” jokingly started singing their hit “Wonderwall” while calling “Liam” a “baby.”

Later in the segment, Jost asked the pair how their feud started.

“Wembley Stadium, 1993,” said “Liam,” who accused “Noel” of telling the Spice Girls that he had a “crooked knob,” which “Noel” denied doing.

After another brief fight, the brothers came together again to rank their favorite “Sex and the City” boyfriends and Will Smith films.

“We’re not going on tour!” they yelled in unison.

The real Liam had a scathing response to the skit on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Are they meant to be comedians.”

Oasis formed in 1991 in Manchester, but the band was almost always plagued with drama between the Gallagher brothers.

After years of blow-ups and trash-talking in the press, the group officially called it quits in 2009 when Noel announced he was leaving the band.

“It is with some sadness and great relief … I quit Oasis tonight,” Noel said in a statement at the time. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

In 2018, Liam claimed Noel was “desperate” to return to Oasis and blamed Noel’s ex, Sara, for blocking him from rejoining the group.

Liam made a dig at his brother as recent as February, when he blasted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when Oasis was nominated for induction into the group. Liam declared he wouldn’t attend the ceremony in Cleveland, but assumed Noel would go since “this little fella loves hanging out with celebrities.”

However, the siblings miraculously set aside their differences enough to announce an Oasis 2025 UK tour.

They both shared the news on their social media sites in August, writing, “This is it, this is happening.”

Liam and Noel will play a total of 4 concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium, as well as 4 concerts in Manchester in addition to shows in Scotland, Wales and Ireland next summer.
