The Bengals’ seven points allowed were their fewest in a game since Dec. 1, 2019, when they held the Jets to six points in a home win.

A pair of former NC State teammates helped the Bengals notch the game’s first takeaway, when late in the opening quarter defensive tackle B.J. Hill deflected a Daniel Jones throw and linebacker Germaine Pratt corralled the interception at Cincinnati’s three-yard line. It was Pratt’s first pick of the season and his third takeaway, as he recovered a fumble in Week 2 at Kansas City and in overtime last week against Baltimore.

Pratt now has six career interceptions, tied for the fourth-most among all NFL linebackers since his first pick in 2021.

Hill, who spent his first three pro seasons (2018-20) with the Giants, finished the night with seven tackles while batting down two passes at the line of scrimmage.

Burrow bought time in the pocket and found receiver Ja’Marr Chase downfield for a 33-yard throw and catch midway through the third quarter. It was Cincinnati’s longest pass of the night and marked Chase’s league-leading sixth reception of 30+ yards this season.

The Chase catch set up an Evan McPherson 37-yard field goal eight plays later that gave the Bengals a 10-7 lead.

Trey Hendrickson recorded his fourth and fifth sacks of the season, bringing Jones down for losses of nine yards in the second quarter and six yards late in the fourth. It was Hendrickson’s 13th career multi-sack game and his ninth since joining the Bengals in 2021, which is tied for the fifth-most such games in the NFL in that span.
