Verizon Fios Down In New York? Users Report Internet Issues

Verizon Fios is reportedly down across several areas of New York, including NYC, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan. Thousands of users have reported internet issues, with DownDetector receiving over 10,000 error reports so far. While some users have experienced a complete outage, others are dealing with drastically slow speeds.

“FIOS internet is extremely slow, Yonkers NY,” one user reported.

Another wrote, “2-5mbps down for the last hour at least (NYC – Morningside Heights)”

A third person reported, “Speed is down to less then 1mb out of 1gb here in the Bronx.”

Another user wrote, “I can barely load a new tab in brooklyn + games are crashing.”

“Constant disconnects and trouble connecting starting around 1pm in nyc. Problems still persisting at 7pm est. Unusable,” wrote another user.

Many have taken to social media to voice their frustrations.

One person reported, “Internet bandwidth problems with Verizon Fios right now in nyc… who else is having issues with internet?”

Another wrote, “In NYC, Verizon Fios has been up and down since 2:20pm today. It is not explained what the problem is. Looks like all the employees who need to fix this are sleeping or resting. Is not an emergency response team?”

Another user inquired, “Hey Verizon, what is up with your internet service in the city rn. I’m on the gigabit plan and it’s been freakishly slow today. When will this be resolved?”

As of now, Verizon has not responded to the outage reports.
