New York Comic Con 2024: All Trailers, First Looks Released – Star Wars Jedi Knights To Karate Kid Legends

The New York Comic Con or NYCC 2024 played host to the new trailers, featurettes, first teasers and first looks of several highly awaited films and TV shows. From Star Wars: Jedi Knights to Karate Kid: Legends, several upcoming titles took centrestage at the east coast counterpart to San Diego Comic-Con.

Sony showcased the first trailer for the latest movie in Karate Kid franchise. Karate Kid: Legends will release on May 30, 2025 and will see franchise stars Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan reuniting to introduce a new student Li Fong, played by Ben Wang.

In the meantime, the Lucasfilm Publishing: Star Wars: Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away Panel announced an all-new ongoing comic series in coming March. Marvel Comics revealed the title Star Wars: Jedi Knights, much to the excitement of fans. It’ll be from writer Marc Guggenheim (Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca) and artist Madibek Musabekov (Star Wars).

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League

The follow-up to the 2018 film Batman Ninja. After the Caped Crusader faces off against his familiar foes into feudal Japan, the sequel finds him at odds with an alternate version of the Justice League. It’ll arrive in 2025.

The Electric State

Marvel veterans Joe and Anthony Russo directed sci-fi action movie is about a girl living in an alternate version of the 1990s who embarks on a journey with her robot companion and a friendly stranger to find her missing brother. It stars Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, and more. It’ll release on March 14, 2025 on Netflix.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim

This animated Lord of the Rings film is set 183 years prior to the iconic live-action trilogy. It tells the story of a legendary king of Rohan. NYCC 2024 released a new featurette from the behind-the-scenes of the film that’ll release on December 13, 2024.

Wolf Man

The creature feature reboot from Universal and Blumhouse stars Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner. The BlumFest panel dropping its first trailer to celebrate the studio’s 15th anniversary. It is directed by Leigh Whannell of The Invisible Man fame. Wolf Man will release on January 17, 2025.

Watchmen: Chapter 2

After the first half of this animated adaptation of DC Comics’ Watchmen in August this year, its Chapter 2 will be out in November. The makers released its band new trailer on Friday. It’ll debut on November 26, 2024.

Dune: Prophecy: Season 1

The prequel series is set 10,000 years prior to the events of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films. It centres on the supernatural sisterhood known as the Bene Gesserit. The trailer revealed its premiere date on November 17 on HBO and Max.

The Penguin

Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Michael Kelly, Clancy Brown, and other huddled to chat about the series and launch a mid-season trailer giving a sneak peek at the remaining episodes.

Rick and Morty: Season 8

The animated series Rick and Morty has been renewed for two more seasons, and extended till Season 12. At NYCC panel, we got a work-in-progress animatic of season 8’s opening scene that shows disaster striking as Rick and Morty board a ship full of passengers in cryo-sleep. Season 8 is expected to release in 2025.

The Walking Dead: Dead City: Season 2

The Walking Dead spin-off released the first look of its season 2 at the NYCC 2024. The upcoming season will follow Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they navigate Manhattan in search of Maggie’s kidnapped son. It is expected to arrive in 2025.

Outlander: Season 7, Part 2

The fantasy-drama released a trailer for its second half of season 7 at the panel. Its first half included eight-episodes and ended on August 11 this year. Part 2 will have eight episodes and will run from November 22, 2024 to January 10, 2025.

Cross: Season 1

Prime Video gave us a glimpse of the upcoming adaptation of James Patterson’s Alex Cross crime novel series. It stars Aldis Hodge in the title role of a detective with a talent for identifying murder victims and tracking down killers. It’ll release on November 14, 2024 on the streaming platform.
