Notes & Stats: Giants vs. Eagles Recap

*Giants quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Drew Lock were sacked eight times, the most by a Giants opponent this season. The previous high was five sacks by the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener. The Giants had not allowed more than three sacks in the previous five games.

*The Giants punted 11 times, their highest total since Jamie Gillan booted 13 punts in an overtime loss to the Jets on Oct. 29, 2023.

*The Eagles gained 269 of their 339 yards on the ground. Their 269 rushing yards were the most allowed by the Giants since Nov. 9, 2014, when the Seattle Seahawks ran for 350 yards. Philadelphia rushed for 268 yards in their NFC Divisional Playoff Game victory against the Giants on Jan. 21, 2023.

*Philadelphia’s 70 net passing yards were the fewest for a Giants opponent since Chicago had 51 on Oct. 3, 2010.

*The Giants converted a season low three third downs (on 14 opportunities).

*Jones completed 14 of 21 passes for 99 yards. In his first action of the season, Lock hit three of eight passes for six yards.

*Tyrone Tracy led the Giants with 23 rushing yards on six carries. Devin Singletary returned to action after missing two games with a groin injury and had five attempts for 19 yards.

*Malik Nabers caught four passes for 41 yards in his return after missing two games with a concussion.

*Wan’Dale Robinson led the Giants with six catches, but they gained only 23 yards.

*The Giants fell to 2-5. They are 0-4 at home for the first time since 2018 and have scored just one touchdown in those four games.

*Saquon Barkley, who played his first six seasons with the Giants before joining the Eagles as a free agent this offseason, had a big game in his return to MetLife Stadium. He rushed for a season-high 176 yards, including runs of 55, 41 and 38 yards, and scored the Eagles’ first touchdown on a 3-yard run.

*The 176 yards were the most by a Giants opponent in the 15-season history of MetLife, and the most since Carolina’s Jonathan Stewart ran for 206 yards on Dec. 27, 2009, in the final game in Giants Stadium.

*Barkley’s highest rushing total in MetLife with the Giants was 152 yards against Houston on Nov. 13, 2022. It was not the MetLife Stadum record, which is 219 by the Jets’ Isaiah Crowell on Oct. 7, 2018.

*Neither team had a turnover, the first time that’s happened in a Giants game since Dec. 17, 2023, at New Orleans. The Giants have not intercepted a pass in their last six games.

*Safety Dane Belton made his first start of the season as the Giants opened with five defensive backs. He had one solo tackle.

*Rookie safety Tyler Nubin led the Giants with nine tackles (four solo).

*Josh Ezeudu started at left tackle for Andrew Thomas, who was placed on injured reserve after undergoing foot surgery last week. It was Ezeudu’s eighth career start, sixth at left tackle, and first since Oct. 15, 2023, in Buffalo, where he suffered a toe injury that ended his season. Prior to Sunday, Ezeudu had played just three offensive snaps this season.

*The Giants’ inactive players were cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (neck), punter Jamie Gillan (groin), linebacker Boogie Basham, safety Anthony Johnson, Jr., tackle Christopher Hubbard, and Tommy DeVito (third quarterback).
