“I hope people are frustrated”: Giants head coach Brian Daboll doesn’t take issue with Malik Nabers’ post-game comments | NFL News – Times of India

Malik Nabers and Brian Daboll seem frustrated after the New York Giants‘ 28-3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. They suggested that quarterback Daniel Jones was the cause of the offense’s struggles, but later shifted blame to him after the game. Jones was benched midway through the game, and the results remained unchanged.

Brian Daboll did not take issue on Monday with a frustrated Malik Nabers

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was shut out in the second half of Sunday’s 28-3 loss to the Eagles, claiming it was not due to the defense.Giants head coach Brian Daboll was asked about Nabers’ statement that he was open but not getting the ball during a press conference on Monday. When asked why the offense hasn’t been able to create explosive plays with Jones under center, Daboll said, “We have guys around him that can create explosive plays. We’ll go back to the drawing board and do the very best we can.”

Daboll was also asked at his press conference whether he had any issue with Nabers saying that he was open but not getting the ball. “When you when you lose a game like that, I hope people are frustrated,” Daboll said, via a transcript from the team. Daboll was questioned about the implication that Nabers did his job while others did not during a press conference.
“He was open a lot. . . . I don’t want to imply what he was or what he wasn’t saying,” Daboll said. “I have good conversation with all our guys. We’ll have one right here in a minute. I respect Malik. I respect all our guys. Again, I don’t want to imply as to what he said or what he didn’t say. If he said he was open, he was open quite a bit.”
On the other hand, when Nabers was asked if the Eagles’ defense presented problems for the Giants, he dismissed that saying, “Watch the target tape. That was it. I was open.” Nabers is clearly implying he was open but Jones was missing him. The Giants are retaining Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback due to limited offensive options. They are hoping for Nabers to continue getting open and the ball to him more frequently to improve their chances.
