Saquon Barkley declined an opportunity to join his old team

Saquon Barkley returned to MetLife Stadium to play against his former team, the New York Giants, despite his humble and respectful demeanor.Despite his humble nature, Barkley’s stats showed he had a significant impact on the game. He rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown, but declined the opportunity to receive a personal accolade when it came to recognizing his contributions to the team.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni asked Barkley if he wanted to return to the field when backups were present, as he was 13 yards short of his career-high rushing yards for a single game. The moment was a classy and wholesome interaction between the coach and player, with Barkley’s response being the most classy. Barkley declined an opportunity to join his old team, stating he prefers to allow his younger teammates to play on the field. “It’s all good. You good, let them eat,” Barkley told Sirianni. “It’s all good, I’d rather see the young boys eat.”
Barkley’s departure from New York was controversial due to the intense rivalry between the Giants and Eagles. Former Giants running back Tiki Barber fueled the flames by stating that the Penn State product was “dead to us.” Barkley faced boos from New York fans, but chose to remain on the sideline in the fourth quarter, allowing his younger teammates to shut down the Giants in a 28-3 win.
