The UK’s most in-demand holiday destinations

New research has revealed the UK’s most in-demand holiday destinations, with Amsterdam coming out on top.
The study by Desert Safari Dubai Tours analysed Google search data over the past 12 months to find which holiday destinations were most in-demand in the UK, using terms like “holidays to”, “flights to”, and “trips to”.
It found that the Dutch city of Amsterdam is the most in-demand holiday destination for the UK. Each month, there have been 57,507 searches in the UK for trips to the destination. “Flights to Amsterdam” came up as the most popular search term, making up 49,150 of the average monthly searches.
Dubai comes second on the list, with an average of 52,544 monthly searches for searches to the United Arab Emirates city. Searches for “Flights to Dubai” made up 38,030 of these average monthly searches.
New York follows closely in third place, with an average of 51,169 monthly searches. It was found that “Flights to New York” made up 38,731 of these monthly searches on average.
Coming in fourth place is the French capital of Paris, which has seen an average of 43,326 searches a month. The search term “Flights to Paris” made up most of these searches, with 39,158 on average each month.
Rounding out the top five is Tenerife, with the Spanish island seeing an average of 43,305 searches a month for holidays, and “Flights to Tenerife” made up 24,413 of these monthly searches.

Commenting on the findings, Magdalena Petrusic from Desert Safari Dubai Tours said: “It’s interesting to note how many of these destinations are located in Europe, and some are a relative stone’s throw away, which highlights the demand the UK has for warmer weather, and how people don’t want to go far for it. While many destinations worldwide may have affordable accommodation, the cost of flights makes the difference in decision-making when booking holidays, and it can often be a better option for a short-haul flight away.
