Giants vs Steelers Monday Night Football open thread
It’s time for Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 8, and this week it is the New York Giants traveling west a couple hundred miles to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh comes into the game 5-2, needing a win to stay ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, while the Giants are guaranteed another week in the cellar of the NFC East, as even a win is not enough to pull them even with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Russell Wilson led Steelers come into the game as 5.5 point favorites with the over/under sitting at 36.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook. That is not a lot of scoring expected, which makes sense given the ineptitude of the New York offense so far this season. The Giants have scored 20 or more points just twice on the season, including just 10 points in the last two games combined since putting 29 on the board against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5.
For the Steelers it’s the second game of the Wilson era, so for those interested in potentially seeing Wilson and Mike Tomlin potentially earn themselves another Super Bowl ring riding a strong defense, this is a chance to see the duo show what they can do in primetime.
Long story short, the Steelers are going to win this game and should cover the spread against an inept Giants offense that will be battling a defense that is second best in the NFL in terms of points allowed. Take the Steelers to cover and bet the under because neither team is likely to put a lot of points on the board.
Fans can tune in on ESPN or ABC at 8:15 ET/5:15 PT. Alternatively the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
