Where did this World Series go wrong for the Yankees?
Technically, the Yankees’ season will end whenever that fourth World Series loss arrives.
It could be Tuesday. Maybe Wednesday. The odds seem insurmountable, and the mojo seems shot. Aaron Judge’s bat remains invisible, and the others — outside of Juan Soto — have sputtered around it.
Still, until that fourth loss arrives, the Yankees statistically, technically and delusionally still can think they have a chance.
But really, it felt like everything came to a crashing halt Monday night in The Bronx, where the Dodgers emerged with a 4-2 victory and kept their bid for a shutout intact for 26 outs. That gave Los Angeles a 3-0 advantage, something that never has been erased in the Fall Classic.
