Statistical breakdown: How the Commanders and Giants stack up ahead of Week 9 game

The Washington Commanders (6-2) face the New York Giants (2-6) in Week 9 in a rematch from seven weeks ago. The Commanders won on that day, 21-18, behind the right leg of Austin Seibert. The Commanders did not score a touchdown, with the newly-signed Seibert scoring all 21 points.

The Commanders moved the ball at will against New York, but if not for Giants kicker Graham Gano’s injury, which left them without a kicker, the result could have been much different. Washington’s red-zone mistakes, including multiple penalties, almost cost them, much like last week in the win against the Bears.

Washington enters Week 9 with the NFC’s best offense against a capable New York defense. The Giants lead the NFL in sacks. So, how do these teams stack up statistically? Let’s take a look.
