Giants announce Starter as franchise’s first partner in Germany
East Rutherford, N.J. – The New York Giants today announced that Starter has become the team’s first international partner through the NFL’s Global Markets Program (GMP). This partnership officially expands Starter’s current domestic sponsorship rights to include rights in Germany.
Earlier this year, the Giants were granted international marketing rights in Germany through the Global Markets Program, their first entry into the program. The announcement in March gave the Giants the opportunity to activate in the German market through fan engagement activations, digital content, events, and partnerships.
“The New York Giants are excited to welcome Starter as our first-ever partner in the Global Markets Program as we establish and build our presence in the German market together,” said Jessica Slenker, Giants’ Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships.
Leading up to the 2024 NFL Munich game, where the Giants will take on the Panthers on November 10, Starter created the “Munich Collection” which includes fleece pullover hoodies, crewnecks, long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, and beanies. The collection is exclusively available in Germany, and fans in Munich will have the opportunity to purchase the collection on-site at the Giants House, an invite-only event celebrating football and culture. Giants House will feature the Giants x Starter Fan Lounge, a fan engagement experience that includes a retail pop-up experience and meet and greet opportunity with Giants legend and Starter President, Carl Banks.
“I am pleased to introduce the NYG x Starter Germany capsule. This unique cultural collaboration celebrates New York Giants fandom on an international stage,” said Carl Banks, President, Starter.
Located at the Praterinsel in Munich, Giants House will feature New York-inspired foods, live DJs, tailgate games, a 100th season exhibit with the Super Bowl Trophy, and appearances by Giants legends Victor Cruz, Shaun O’Hara, and Phil Simms.
