11/10 Pacers injury report vs. Knicks: Obi Toppin, T.J. McConnell, and more

The Indiana Pacers are looking to bounce back against the New York Knicks after their tough loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. Indiana played the Knicks in New York’s home opener on October 25. The Pacers lost 123-98, marking their first loss of the season.

Heading into today’s matchup, the Pacers are 4-5 and are aiming to get back to .500. The Knicks, on the other hand, are 4-4. The two teams do not go head-to-head again for the rest of the calendar year, with their next matchup set for February 11. Indiana looks to even the season series back at home.

Here is the full injury report for both teams.

After missing the team’s loss against the Hornets, backup point guard T.J. McConnell is listed as questionable due to a non-COVID illness. If he is unable to go, the Pacers will rely more heavily on Ben Sheppard and potentially Quenton Jackson, who played enarly 20 minutes against Charlotte.

Andrew Nembhard, who also missed Indiana’s loss to Charlotte, is listed as questionable due to the knee injury he has been dealing with for multiple games. Nembhard has already missed two games due to the injury. It would not be a shock for the Pacers to keep him out once again to play it safe.

The Pacers will officially be without starting small forward Aaron Nesmith for the fourth consecutive game. Bennedict Mathurin has taken on a larger role and has made the most of it so far. He will likely continue to see big minutes at least until Nesmith returns.

Backup forward Obi Toppin is a new addition to the Pacers’ injury report due to an ankle injury. Listed as questionable, Toppin is in danger of missing today’s battle against his former team. The Pacers will likely give more minutes to Jarace Walker and Enrique Freeman if Toppin is unable to go. Furthermore, rookie Johnny Furphy, who played four minutes against the Hornets, could see his number get called a few more times.

From the Knicks’ side, they will once again be without big men Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson, who have each missed every game for the team to begin the season.

Cameron Payne, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, has missed each of the Knicks’ last three games and could miss today’s game as well. Furthermore, Miles McBride, who is in the midst of a breakout campaign, is listed as questionable. McBride has played every game for the Knicks so far.
