NFL picks, predictions Week 11: Indianapolis Colts vs. New York Jets | Sporting News
The Indianapolis Colts (4-6) are back on the road in Week 11 to face the New York Jets (3-7).
Indianapolis will be looking to snap their three-game losing streak and avoid the first four-game losing streak in the Shane Steichen era.
The Colts open the week as four-point road underdogs against the Jets, and the NFL experts have different opinions on the outcome.
Some believe New York will cover the spread while others think Indianapolis will keep it close or outright win.
It should be noted that these picks were made before the Colts announced that Anthony Richardson would be the starting quarterback again, but Indy is still underdogs on the road.
NFL picks, predictions Week 11: Colts vs. Jets
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Jets 24, Colts 17
Bender: “Which mess will be cleaned up first? The Colts are stuck in a three-game skid, one in which they have committed eight turnovers. Joe Flacco hasn’t quite caught the magic he had in Cleveland last season. The Jets had 207 total yards in a Week 10 loss at Arizona. What is the difference? New York is 2-2 S/U at home with Aaron Rogers, and he has a 100.9 passer rating in those games.”
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Jets 24, Colts 13
Iyer: “The Colts will stay in this game with Jonathan Taylor’s running early, only to put Joe Flacco in more uncomfortable situations by the second half after setting up Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, and Davante Adams for a get-well outside passing game. The Jets also can shatter the Colts’ porous run defense with Breece Hall.”
Jeremy Cluff, USA Today Sports: Colts 23, Jets 17
Cluff: “This game was originally scheduled to be the Sunday Night Football game this week. While it’s not worthy of that, it is worth keeping an eye on with both of these teams in dire need of a win. Look for the Colts to get it in a road upset.”
Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: Jets 27, Colts 20
Johnson: “There will be plenty of other good games on the Week 11 NFL schedule to watch, you can skip this one. Losses on Sunday effectively ended the seasons of the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. Joe Flacco has proven he isn’t a better option than Anthony Richardson, which means the Colts won’t be able to take advantage of a shaky Jets defense. Aaron Rodgers might do just enough to beat a very bad team, but this game feels meaningless.”
Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network: Jets 21, Colts 20
Rolfe: “The matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets is a semi-playoff elimination game in the AFC. Amazingly, both teams are still within two games of the No. 7 seed, but a loss in Week 11 would put them massively on the back foot.
These two teams are fairly even overall, ranking 17th and 19th in our PR+ metric. The Jets have the superiority on offense and defense but have played the slightly easier schedule, while the Colts have the superiority on special teams.
The edge here goes to New York being at home and facing a dome team in mid-November, but both of them are tough to trust in any given week.
In a pick ’em format, the Jets are the play here, but laying points with them is tough to do. So from a betting perspective, this game is a pass.”
